Getting to DANY Lessons from a New York Job Hunt eBook Paul Caulfield Reviews
This was a fast paced and fun book. I truly enjoyed following Paul Caulfield on his wild ride as he strives to get to D.A.N.Y.
Very personal account of discovery and achievement. A wonderful story that is fun, funny and inspirational. Getting to D.A.N.Y. is a must read!
Well-written, honest, accurate, and thoroughly enjoyable. A must-read for that rare law student who aspires not to Big Law, but who dreams instead of joining the ranks of the country's premier prosecutor and spending his or her days in the service of justice, 'doing the right thing.'
Having known nothing about the process of becoming a trial lawyer, I was utterly fascinated by this book. I especially enjoyed Caulfield recalling his experiences trying cases as a law student in Maryland. I think his story will resonate with anyone who went after a job they really wanted and got it.
This book was a terrific and enjoyable page turner. It was personal and touching as it covered the author's path to becoming an Assistant D.A. at the New York County District Attorney's Office under the legendary Robert Morgenthau and then his time there. It even includes some fascinating history about the office that even veterans will find new and interesting. Great read.
Caulfield's unique writing style contributes to an enjoyable read as he shares his educational and life experiences. He conveys a self-deprecating manner and honesty as he navigates through his roles as college student, missionary, schoolteacher, law school student, and trial lawyer. His strategies, discipline, and sense of humor are lessons learned of how he attained his level of success and "dream job" as Assistant District Attorney of New York. A motivation for all law students......Could not put it down.
I’m not a lawyer, but I really enjoyed this book. It’s a quick read, and appropriately so considering it’s just about getting the “dream job” as opposed to the dream job itself. (Sequel?). His writing style is very unique, and I see others have noticed this as well. I felt like I was being told the story, and it was a neat experience once I got used to it. I think college and grad students will enjoy this; I also think people well along their careers would enjoy the look back and find some similarities to starting out. I did. I recommend.
